Handmade pricing calculator
Most makers price at material plus hours and stay on the floor. This tool counts the six things that are usually forgotten: small parts, packaging, failure rate, platform fees, shipping and returns — and it shows the effective rate your hours end up earning.

The method in one line
Material and parts are amortised over your success rate, labour is priced at the rate you claim, shipping, fees and a returns reserve are added, and the premium factor is applied on top of that floor. Platform fees are divided out, not subtracted, because they are charged on the selling price.
floor = (material + parts) / (1 - failure) + hours x rate + shipping + returns price = floor x premium / (1 - platform fee)
How to read it
- Your hours earn is the honest number: it is what is left for your labour after everything else is paid. If it is below your claimed rate, the product is not carrying the premium.
- A premium factor of 1.5–3 is normal for handmade. Above 3 you need a story a buyer can repeat to someone else.
- The tool does not know your market. It gives you a floor you can defend; the ceiling is your judgement.
